Charles Gilbert Kapsner is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

  An Art Renewal Center (ARC) Associate Living Master, Kapsner is known for his diverse repertoire, particularly his thought-provoking, Vanitas-style still life paintings. His works include finely developed charcoal drawings, oil portraits, and a creative blend of beautiful imagery accessible to all. Works include lush florals, poignant works of social commentary, and pieces honoring veterans’ service. 

Materials will be displayed that highlight Kapsner's technique, special tools used in his fresco paintings, as well as his career-defining set of five epic 8 X 10 ft. oil paintings permanently installed at the Committal Hall of the MN State Veteran's Cemetery near Little Falls MN.

Kapsner’s art has garnered numerous awards, and admiration and respect from both peers and art enthusiasts. Studio Pintura is honored to present this curated show by an exceptional artist whose life, and body of work, has been anything but still.
